Why Balanced Arts
When a loved one was suddenly diagnosed with a neurological condition, doctors were vague with their advice and answers. At that time, detailed conversations around mental health, even with family members, was limited. Other medical professionals were less than helpful in their guidance for workable solutions as well. One even suggested that the family simply commit the loved one to a facility. Anderson and his family felt helpless.
It was then that he went all in. He read, watched, and listened to every brain recovery and mental health instructional piece of information that he could find. Eventually, he used a blend of this learning, along with his physical fitness experience and martial arts training to create a successful recovery regimen. This curriculum and coaching helped his loved one regain and maintain mental health stability and get back the life they deserved.
Anderson believes no one should feel helpless when it comes to mental health information and that everyone should have access to basic wellness and mental health tools. Healthy mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing is both healing and freeing. We all possess "superpowers" designed to help us navigate life and overcome stress and personal roadblocks, we just aren't always shown how to use them. RA's approach to mental and emotional wellbeing utilizes physical movement to address feelings and emotions in order to make long-lasting neurological and behavioral change.
Somatic movement, infused with immersive kinesthetic experiences and intentional breathwork build emotional capacity and metacognition conditioning. These mindful activities help create a deeper embodiment that enable connection with the parasympathetic sides of our nervous system so that we can reset our mood; enabling clearer thinking and building stress resiliency.
Ancient practices such as Tai Chi, Meditation, Mindfulness, and Yoga are great tools for connecting with our emotions. They are somatic experiences that teach us about ourselves, provide healing, better reactions to triggers and behavioral control. These kinds of activities have been "gateways" for personal development journeys for centuries. They are life changing and life saving. But too often, people don't know how to tap into their powers and use them for their highest benefits. That's where Balanced Arts can help. Balanced Arts gets to the heart of these ancient practices right away; empowering new practitioners and students to gain focus, feel safe, and develop wellbeing tools and habits quickly.
“To gain personal success and overcome our internal and external obstacles, we MUST learn to train mentally; retrain, rewire, and repeat! Sculpting for growth to reveal our personal, individual truths, and full potential is a daily goal. We chip away at it our entire lives. Practice is the only 'secret' to gaining the mastery to homeostasis and balance.” - Excerpt from, 4 STEPS TO MASTERING THE MENTAL DRAGON, by R.A. Anderson.
You don’t need to experience burnout, a mental breakdown, or be diagnosed with a mental health condition to benefit from Balanced Arts' instruction.
The core objective of each Balanced Arts program is rooted in the fact that our brains are our most challenging opponent. In order to overcome mental, emotional, and physical obstacles we must learn how to “spar and grapple” with our brain; to train it, and to retrain and rewire it.
From basic, core functions to learning new skills and installing new thought patterns; learning how to care for our brain and mind is the crucial key to everything. Training the mind is the number one skill needed for everything that you do. This skill will bring you closer to what you want out of life. We need to move beyond our primitive brains and work to become masters over our triggers, stressors, regressive patterns, and limiting beliefs. Training the mind is a daily activity and absolutely necessary for living free and finding your best self.
